The BG-E2 provides an additional shutter release, main dial, AE lock/FE lock and AF point selection controls for easier vertical shooting, as well as a 1/4-20 size tripod mount thread. It is compatible with the Canon EOS 50D, 40D, 30D and 20D SLR.
